Why Chiropractic Works

The main reason chiropractic treatment works so well is because adjusting the spine restores mobility, alleviates pain

as well as muscle tightness.

Little Micro Traumas Add Up

Your body does a great job adapting to this stress, but over time, these micro traumas add up, creating more stress in one area and causing a decrease in functioning in another area.

That’s when you see conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, infertility, acid reflux, heart rate issues, and headaches, to name a few.

When we address these microtraumas and areas where movement is restricted, this allows the body to heal and get rid of the resulting symptoms.

Yes, that means high blood pressure, pain, digestive issues and more are symptoms that can be helped.

Why These Micro Traumas Occur

The body has two systems, the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. The sympathetic system is always at the ready, ready to fight.

In primitive times, the sympathetic system was activated if a predator approached, and you had to fight for your life.

Today, the sympathetic system gets activated by chronic stress. Think job responsibilities, worries about finances, worries about your kids, and so on. We spend way too much time in this “fight or flight” response.

All that stress takes blood flow and nerve transmission away from your organs and re-directs it to your muscles. This keeps you from relaxing completely, which hurts your ability to heal and recover.

Chiropractic Unwinds the Nervous System

Consistent chiropractic treatments take you out of that stress and into a parasympathetic state. It unwinds the tension in your nervous system, allowing you to get back to a relaxed state so that your body can actually heal.

We have found that once patients make simple lifestyle changes and follow consistent chiropractic care, you’ll find relief comes quickly.

Natural Healing Looks Differently Than Conventional Healing

The road to healing is not a straight line!

It has many ups and downs. Natural healing is not like taking an antibiotic and in seven days you’re “cured.”

On your healing journey through care you’ll find you have some good days and some bad. Here’s why.

Your body is used to its maladaptive functioning.

It takes time for it to begin to adjust to normal functioning. That’s why, on your healing journey, you’ll have some good days. Other days may feel like you’ve taken a step backwards.

Don’t worry if new issues show up for a short time. You’re making progress and well on your way to a better level of health.

It’s important not to judge what seems to be a lack of progress. Remember, you’ve had this condition for a long time. It’s not going to disappear overnight.

Give your body time. In a day or two, you’ll find you feel better.

I will be there listening to you, tweaking your treatment based on your input, and

reviewing your progress with you. Moving forward, we will make changes as needed based on your input and what we find as you move through treatment.

And, as treatment continues, you’ll have more good days than bad days until you find you’re having consistently good days.

Before you know it, you’ll be back doing the things you thought you’d never be able to do again!
